Mardas (مرداس)

Mardas was an Arab king. He was murdered by his ambitious son, Zahak, who is manipulated by Ahriman (Satan). Ahriman convinces Zahak to dig a deep pit, covered with leaves, in the garden where Mardas takes his early morning walks to pray. Mardas falls into the pit and dies, allowing Zahak to usurp the throne.
